Estimados Presidentes:
El Amazonas ahora enfrenta el mayor ataque de su historia.
Los gobiernos de Bolivia y Brasil sacrifican la Amazonía y su biodiversidad para hacer negocios; explotado, deforestado y quemado por diferentes industrias (ganadería, madera, minería y agricultura, entre otras), hoy la selva tropical más grande del mundo se quema durante más de dos semanas.
No podemos perder el pulmón del planeta.
Pedimos ayuda internacional para salvarla.
Exigimos a los gobiernos que la protejan.
The Amazon is now facing the greatest attack in its history.
The governments of Bolivia and Brazil sacrifice the Amazon and its biodiversity to do business; exploited, deforested and burned by different industries (livestock, timber, mining and agricultural, among others), today the world's largest rainforest burns for more than two weeks.
We cannot lose the lung of the planet.
We ask for international help to save her.
We demand to the governments to protect her.
¿Por qué es importante?
Si perdemos la selva del Amazonas, perderemos hábitats únicos y a las especies animales que lo habitan. Las comunidades indígenas perderán su hogar. Y todos perderemos la batalla contra el cambio climático.
If we lose the Amazon rainforest, we will lose unique habitats and the animal species that inhabit it. Indigenous communities will lose their home. And we will all lose the battle against climate change.
